Key Plan Benefits at a Glance

Comprehensive Major Medical

  • $500,000 3-year renewable benefit per person for primary members and dependents under age 55.
  • Benefit reduces to $200,000 as a lifetime benefit when members retire at age 55.
  • Plan reimburses at 80% of reasonable and customary charges.

Financial Protection (Life Benefit)

  • Your beneficiary/ies receive a basic $25,000 one-time benefit to help cover funeral and living expenses.
  • If death is a result of an accident, an additional $25,000 is paid out, for a total of $50,000.
  • This lump-sum payout replaces income for your family's daily living, education, and future, securing their standard of life.

Critical Illness Benefit

  • A $25,000 one-time living benefit payout for the primary insured member only upon diagnosis.
  • Covers 10 critical illnesses including Heart Attack, Cancer, Stroke, and Kidney Failure.
  • This lump sum can be used for specialized treatment, experimental drugs, or adapting your home during recovery.

Wellness & Claims Convenience

  • Preventative Care: Free annual physical for all PRIMARY participants. This benefit is not subject to a deductible or co-insurance.
  • Online Claim Processing/Auto-Adjudication: Present your Sagicor CariCARE Card to participating providers and pay only your portion, making claims settlement faster and easier.

*Please Note: Dental and Vision benefits are NOT covered under this plan.

Important Financial Terms

  • Deductible: $350 is the first amount of eligible expenses you incur each calendar year before benefits begin.
  • Co-Insurance/Stop Loss: After the deductible is met, the plan reimburses 80% of eligible expenses up to the stop-loss maximum ($40,000); thereafter, you are reimbursed at 100% of eligible expenses.
  • Pre-Existing Condition Limit: If you receiv/home/docker/volumes/life_insurance_pub_html/_data ed treatment for an illness or injury 90 days prior to enrollment, benefits for further treatment for the same condition are limited to a maximum of $750 during the first 12 months of enrollment.
  • Carry over Provision: Claims incurred for the first time during the last three (3) Months of a calendar year are used to reduce the deductible for the following year.

Is the MOHA plan only for police officers or can civilians also benefit?

The MOHA insurance plan benefits both officers and civilians.

What happens if I get transferred to a different Ministry?

In the event of a ministerial transfer, you will unfortunatley have to relinquish your plan.
